When do I get paid?+
Every Friday. Payment is held in escrow at booking and released when the homeowner confirms completion (or automatically after 48 hours). Stripe deposits straight to your bank.
How do taxes work?+
You receive a 1099-NEC at year end for total earnings on the platform. Curb does not withhold taxes. You are responsible for filing as an independent contractor.
What does the background check cover?+
Curb uses Checkr — the same screening service trusted by major gig platforms. It covers national and county criminal records, the sex-offender registry, and identity verification. Results typically return within 24 to 48 hours.
How is my service radius set?+
You set it at signup, up to 25 miles. Curb only shows bookings from homes inside that radius, and you can adjust it any time from your provider settings.
What happens if a homeowner cancels?+
Cancellations more than 24 hours out are free. Inside 24 hours, the homeowner is charged a fee that protects your time — we route a portion of it to you automatically.
How do I get more bookings?+
Curb routes bookings based on neighborhood activity, ratings, and trust level. Higher trust tiers unlock more visibility, and providers with strong ratings get featured placement.
